About the event

- What we're up to -

Bring on the hot hazy days of summer! Depending on the weather, this can be prime time for early fruits, or still a chance to get those tender second-growth greens. We'll be exploring what's on the grow in Picton, Prince Edward County and sharing our favourite foraged foods, and (maybe iced) tisanes!

- What to bring -

  • Yourself dressed for the weather (we go rain or shine) - that includes footwear that will keep you dry, and that you don't mind possibly getting a bit muddy! Sun protection is key.
  • A water-bottle is always recommended.
  • A tasty snack to share (wild-food inspired is awesome but not necessary!) Expect to nosh on something plant-filled from the kitchens of Sammy/Lee/Becky + what others bring.

- Keep in mind -

Wild Foragers Society utilizes the outdoor classroom; we respect the local by-laws and private property and do not harvest during frolics without permission. Frolics are lead in English, we will walk as a group for approximately 1-2 km.

WFS is supportive of all community care efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Masks are not mandatory at the frolic, but welcome for those who wish to wear them. We respect the right of each individual's choice and ask others to do the same.

- How to get there -

There is free parking at Macaulay Museum by the historic house (not the church) where York Street ends, along Church St. We'll gather next to the parking lot on the grassy knoll before heading down Whattam's Walkway.
